Beyond gathering information on factors such as different career options, the eligibility criteria, the premier institutions from where the required qualification for a certain career could be acquired, variables such as attitudes, abilities and inclinations also play a major role. Career Counseling and Guidance Centre has been introduced as a department in Good Shepherd international School to serve as an eye-opener to the various major career opportunities available to the youth of today at different stages of academic life. Researchers in psychology claim that we normally live upto only 10 to 15 percent of our potential and that the drive for perfection is a trait exhibited spontaneously by only about 10 to 15 percent of people. Keeping this factor in mind, due emphasis has been laid on personal counselling at our centre to improve self-confidence, self-esteem, communication skills, inter-personal skills, conflict resolution techniques, positive reinforcement and goal setting which enhance the personality development and to enable individuals to realize their full potential.
